Biomechanical Assessment
For all manner of injuries, bumps, bangs and pains.
Your Podiatrist will begin with a thorough history taking to understand your day to day activity taking into account every relevant factor such as your working day, training schedule, injury history as well as taking into account your general medical history.
After this they will carry out a detailed biomechanical assessment where they will assess the joints, ligaments, tendons and other structures in the lower limb from a seated position and a weight bearing position. They will also see you standing, walking and, if relevant, running to analyse the forces acting on the different structures within the foot and ankle. After this they will share their findings with you and break down the relevant information into simple straightforward outcomes and discuss what treatment options may be available to you.
Commonly people will leave foot pain until it becomes unbearable before seeking help with it, we highly recommend having a thorough assessment as the foot is an extremely complex piece of engineering with 28 bones, 214 ligaments and 38 muscles all working together to keep you moving.
Podiatrists are experts in the diagnosis and management of lower limb disorders and can get you started on the treatment you need to get back to a pain free life.
